Description
Clarence "Kelly" Magnart Wick was born March 13, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Magnart and Jeanette (Olson) Wick . Kelly passed away on March 22, 2012 at the age of 74.
He graduated from Benson high school. Kelly worked for the Swift County Highway Department, the State of MN Highway Department, construction projects at the University of Minnesota in Morris and Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, and many years as a local carpenter.
Kelly also owned and operated an archery shop. He was enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard from 1959 to 1965.
Among the things he enjoyed were fishing, hunting, and working with his dogs. In addition, Kelly had a huge passion for woodworking at which he was very gifted. He won awards for his custom made duck calls, and in addition to those he made everything from rifles, violins, vases, bowls, relief carvings, furniture, and lamps to fishing lures and fish houses. If he didn't know how to make something, he'd read a book or two on the subject and a month later he had mastered it.
